Butler loses three games to COVID-19, won't play again until Dec. 14

INDIANAPOLIS – A positive COVID-19 test in the Butler basketball program has caused the Bulldogs to cancel three games. They are not scheduled to play again until Dec. 14 in a Big East opener against St. John’s at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Butler began the season by beating Western Michigan 66-62 Wednesday night.

In addition to a previously canceled game Sunday against Eastern Illinois, dates against Northern Kentucky (Dec. 6) and Kansas State (Dec. 11) were also wiped out.

Butler is to play Dec. 16 at Villanova and Dec. 19 against Indiana in the Crossroads Classic.

Butler confirmed the initial positive result detected from within Tier 1 personnel, defined as players coaches and select support staff.
