OMAHA, Neb. – Butler’s Big East basketball fortunes have not varied.
When the Bulldogs feature better or equal talent, they almost always win. When they don’t, they always lose … or did until they upset top-ranked Villanova last week.
Wednesday night was return to normal.
The Bulldogs were overmatched, and it showed. Creighton has two, maybe three, players with NBA aspirations. Butler? It is hard to make a case for anyone right now.
No. 8 Creighton shot 55 percent in beating the No. 13 Bulldogs 75-64, and in no way was it that close.
