INDIANAPOLIS – After committing to Butler University, Bryce Golden wanted to wear jersey No. 33.

He learned it was not so simple.

No. 33 was once worn by Joel Cornette, a 2003 graduate who helped the Bulldogs reach the NCAA Sweet 16 that year. His impassioned belief in Butler basketball was a foundational component of the Bulldogs’ rise. He died Aug.
