Butler basketball postpones Sunday's game because of positive COVID-19 test

INDIANAPOLIS – Butler’s college basketball game against Eastern Illinois, scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed.

Butler stopped all team activities Thursday following a positive COVID-19 test result from among players, coaches and support staff. The individual is not showing symptoms, according to a school release, and a confirmation test will be administered. Those identified as close contacts have been instructed to quarantine.

The positive test was detected Wednesday night following the Bulldogs’ 66-62 opening victory over Western Michigan at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The test was part of Butler’s three-times-a-week surveillance testing, in accordance with NCAA and Big East protocols.
