Butler basketball player Carlos 'Scooby Johnson accused of rape

INDIANAPOLIS – Butler’s Carlos “Scooby" Johnson, a former Mr. Basketball in Michigan, has been accused of rape.

A probable cause affidavit of seven pages was filed Thursday in Marion County in connection with a Feb. 4 incident on campus.

Johnson, 19, did not play in his freshman year at Butler after knee surgery.

He was on the bench during games for much of the season but later was absent without explanation. His name was listed on the team's roster all summer but has since been removed.

Butler spokesman Mark Apple said the university was preparing a statement.
