Bulldogs try to regroup after road loss and scary flight

INDIANAPOLIS – Traumatic events are not recommended for building team chemistry in college basketball. But Thursday night’s harrowing flight did underscore that the Butler Bulldogs already had such chemistry.

Coach Chris Holtmann said one young player was “really emotional” during the ordeal, in which the plane lost cabin pressure and all passengers put on oxygen masks.

“We had another teammate, as he had his mask on, kind of grabbing him and holding him by the shoulder in the midst of that,” Holtmann said. “That speaks to that young man and what he’s thinking about in that moment.
