After string of losing seasons, Jeff Voris resigns as Butler football coach

INDIANAPOLIS – Jeff Voris, a two-time Pioneer Football League coach of the year who has not had a winning league season since 2013, resigned Monday after 16 years at Butler.

The Bulldogs ended a 14-game PFL losing streak by beating Marist 28-21 in his final game Nov. 20. Their most recent winning season was 6-5 in 2017.

Voris, 54, was 80-85 with the Bulldogs and third in school history in victories behind Tony Hinkle (165) and Bill Sylvester (84). He came to Butler after compiling a 15-34 record at Carroll College.

Defensive coordinator Joe Cheshire will be interim head coach.
