After long wait, Butler QB Malcolm Weaver thrives in starting gig

It took Malcolm Weaver only three words to tell his parents everything they needed to know.

“I got it.”

So much time, effort and energy had gone into the words Clarence and Wendy Weaver heard the Sunday night before Butler’s first game this season, the words that meant their son was finally — finally — the starting quarterback for Butler University.

Just a few weeks after one of the biggest moments of his life, he put on the biggest show of his collegiate career. Weaver threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns in Butler’s 59-14 thrashing of Franklin Saturday night.
