Providence held Kelan Martin to a season-low six points and overcame an 11-point deficit to beat visiting Butler 70-60 Monday in Big East basketball.

It was the fourth conference loss in five games for the Bulldogs (13-7, 3-4) since an upset of No. 1 Villanova. Kyron Cartwright had 18 points and 11 assists for the Friars (13-6, 4-2).

Butler trimmed a 12-point deficit to 57-53 inside the final 3 minutes before Providence responded with a 13-4 spurt.

Martin, coming off a career-high 37 points Friday against Marquette, was 3-of-14 from the field, 0-of-5 on 3-pointers and 0-of-2 on free throws.
