West Ham terror alert: Police called to threat at London Stadium suspicious vehicle was parked close to gates ahead of defeat by Burnley

Police were called to a terror alert at the London Stadium ahead of West Ham's clash with Burnley.

Officers on patrol were made aware of a suspicious vehicle parked close to one of the gates to the venue before Wednesday's night's kick-off.

Initially, a message was placed over the stadium's loudspeakers for the owner to return immediately to a grey Volkswagen Golf.

Additional officers were called for and a cordon was put in place before the car was moved.
