'This is the life of a big club': Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho admits he 'felt very bad' for having to leave the struggling Dele Alli out of win at Burnley... but says he'll get a chance to prove his worth in the Europa League

Jose Mourinho has admitted he has sympathy for Dele Alli after the out-of-sorts Tottenham star was left out of his squad for Monday night's victory at Burnley.

Alli has fallen out of favour under Mourinho, starting just two of Tottenham's 11 fixtures all season, and is currently enduring the most challenging period of his career.

Mourinho insisted he takes no pleasure from leaving players out but understands that making difficult decisions is part and parcel of 'life at a big club'.

The Spurs boss has however assured Alli, Davinson Sanchez and Harry Winks - who were also not part of Mourinho's squad at Turf Moor - will get their opportunities to prove their worth in Thursday's Europa League trip to Antwerp.
