Manchester United have been forced to reduce the crowd capacity for next week's Carabao Cup tie against Burnley at Old Trafford to 62,000 due to a shortage of ambulance staff.

United were advised by safety authorities to cut the attendance due to the problem, which is a result of planned industrial action next Wednesday, and have decided to close two tiers in the north and west stands.

The fourth-round tie is sold out so United have written to those fans affected and offered them a full refund or the option of moving to a different part of the stadium if possible.
