Burnley have confirmed the signing of Belgium international midfielder Steven Defour on a three-year contract for a club record fee.
Defour, 28, says he turned down a new contract offer from Anderlecht and a better financial deal from the Middle East in order to join the Clarets.
Some reports in the Belgian media had tipped the tough-tackling midfielder to accept a more lucrative offer from Al-Jazira in the United Arab Emirates.
He told Burnley's official website: "When I knew that Burnley was interested, I took some time to look into the club and I saw some interesting stuff.
