Season Review Part II: Winter Blues

Wolves will now follow the route the Clarets took into Europe via their seventh-place finish in the Premier League, and their tidy start to the 2018/19 season continued with a 1-0 win over Burnley at Molineux in mid-September.

The scoreline was generous to the Clarets who, boss Sean Dyche admitted, were still in a ‘bit of a fog’ post-Europa League.

Burnley were also bottom of the table, so peering through the gloom to secure a first Premier League win of the season at to Bournemouth was perfectly timed.

The margin of victory – a 4-0 win making it the club’s biggest in the Premier League – may again have flattered the Clarets as substitute Ashley Barnes struck twice in the last 10 minutes.
