Sean Dyche is confused after Burnley were denied a match-saving penalty and calls his side's spot-kick record 'horrendous' as he claims 'the referee seemed clear in his mind it was a penalty'

Burnley boss Sean Dyche was left aggrieved after new Premier League interpretations denied his side a match-saving penalty against Arsenal.

Referee Anthony Taylor reversed his decision to award Burnley a 69th-minute spot-kick after checking his monitor to see Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale had touched the ball before catching Matej Vydra.

Last season, The Clarets conceded a VAR penalty against Leeds when ‘keeper Nick Pope was penalised for catching Patrick Bamford in the follow-through despite clearing the ball first.

‘Our record for getting penalties is horrendous as you know,’ said Dyche.
