Manchester City dealt major injury blow after Kevin De Bruyne is ruled out for up to six weeks with a hamstring issue... which rules him out for season-defining clashes with Liverpool and Tottenham next month

Kevin De Bruyne will miss four to six weeks of action after suffering a hamstring injury against Aston Villa, Pep Guardiola has confirmed.

De Bruyne was forced off just before the hour mark after pulling up during a sprint. The 29-year-old, a driving force behind City’s recent resurgence, has experienced hamstring problems before and is expected to miss the next month or so of action.

Guardiola’s side face West Bromwich Albion, Sheffield United and Burnley in the Premier League ahead pivotal games against Liverpool and Tottenham next month.
