Jamie Carragher admits footballers SHOULD be well down the priority list for Covid jabs as Gary Neville hits back at the Government over goal celebration debate: 'Why is hugging mentioned now after seven months of football?'

Jamie Carragher has waded into the debate about vaccinations stating that footballers should be well down the list of those who will have the jab.

The former Liverpool defender's comments are at odds with Burnley manager Sean Dyche's suggestion to vaccinate players and divert the money saved on testing to the NHS.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Sky pundit Carragher said Dyche's idea might sound OK, but it would not be right.

'The situation the country is in with vaccinations, if footballers were put to the top of the list for vaccinations when people a lot more at risk up and down the country, such as the over 80s and over 70s, who are more susceptible to Covid-19, I don't think it would go down well at all.
