Pep Guardiola has offered up Ilkay Gundogan as a surprise short-term replacement for Sergio Aguero.
Aguero has undergone surgery on a lateral meniscus injury in his left knee in Barcelona and is set for up to seven weeks on the sidelines.
A picture the Argentine posted on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon showed him in his hospital bed with the caption: 'Everything went well, and I'll soon begin recovery. A big thanks to Dr Cugat and his team – and to all of you for your support.'

Gabriel Jesus will take over predominantly but Guardiola knows he must rotate his options for the remainder of the season.
