'He's in the team to be defensive': Paul Scholes insists Wout Weghorst is NOT good enough to play for Man United and is only being picked by Erik ten Hag as he 'runs about' off the ball... but backs his former side to recover from 'freakish' Liverpool los

Wout Weghorst does not have the level of quality required to play for Manchester United, claims Paul Scholes.

The Dutch striker, on loan from Burnley, struggled to make an impact as the Red Devils were thrashed 7-0 by their bitter rivals Liverpool on Sunday.

Weghorst, playing in the No 10 role, was hooked off after 58 minutes with Jurgen Klopp's side already holding a 3-0 lead at the time.

While the 30-year-old has been praised for his boundless energy and ability to press the opposition, United legend Scholes feels he's not good enough to play for the Red Devils.
