Everton 1-2 Burnley: Dwight McNeil scores SENSATIONAL long range goal as Toffees fail to close the gap on Chelsea in top four hunt

Dwight McNeil scored a wondergoal as Burnley inflicted Everton’s seventh home defeat of the season with Carlo Ancelotti’s men also losing goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to injury.

Burnley, who had won only one of their previous nine games, shook off their shot-shy image by taking the lead through Chris Wood before McNeil struck from 25 yards midway through the first half.

Though Dominic Calvert-Lewin reduced arrears before the interval, Everton’s European hopes took another dive because of their wretched form at Goodison Park.
