Striker Peter Crouch has been ruled out of the Clarets’ trip to Bournemouth after under-going surgery.
The former England international required an appendix operation which also forced him to miss Burnley’s 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers last Saturday.
And boss Sean Dyche isn’t yet sure how long the January signing will be sidelined.
“We’ll find out more off the specialist, but they’re reasonably happy so far,” said Dyche.
“On the one hand they say an appendix doesn’t do a lot, but when it flares up you’ve got to be careful with it and we’ll have to wait on a specialist view.
