Sean Dyche was delighted as his players provided the perfect painkiller to ease the manager’s chronic back pain.
Dyche had been laid up during the international break after undergoing surgery to cure a long-standing nerve problem.
And his recovery was boosted by three precious points as a Conor Coady own goal and a Dwight McNeil screamer provided a first win in five.
“I am very pleased from a professional point of view because I’ve had to have a back operation in the past couple of weeks,” explained Dyche.
“I’ve had to have a week away and I thank my staff because they have obviously kept at it with the training levels we expect.
