Hannibal Mejbri has been charged by the Football Association with misconduct after appearing to spit at Leeds United fans during last month's Premier League encounter.
As exclusively revealed by Daily Mail Sport last month, a Leeds fan made the allegation following Burnley's 2-0 home win at Turf Moor.
And after an investigation, the FA have decided to charge the Burnley midfielder for the misdemeanour.
In a short statement on Tuesday afternoon, the FA announced: 'Burnley's Hannibal Mejbri has been charged with misconduct following their Premier League fixture against Leeds United on Saturday 18 October.
