Burnley pub officially renames itself 'The Royal Dyche' in honour of Clarets boss Sean Dyche securing Europa League football

A Burnley pub which re-named itself in honour of Sean Dyche for leading them to Europe has officially opened today.

Staff at ‘The Royal Dyche’ (formerly known as ‘The Princess Royal’) served their first pint at midday today after promising to rename the venue back in November.

Burnley will compete in the Europa League after securing a seventh-place finish in the Premier League last campaign, their first venture into Europe since the 1966-67 season.

During the 2016-17 season, Dyche was promised free drinks if he simply kept the Clarets up.

However, after a fantastic start to the season, staff at the venue duly raised the bar.
