Burnley chairman Alan Pace has invited an elderly supporter suffering from Parkinson’s whose newspaper advert asking for help to travel to home matches to be his VIP guest at Turf Moor.

The newspaper listing, in which the season ticket holder asks for a lift from his home in Southport to Burnley’s stadium, that emerged on Friday has gone viral with 30,000 retweets.

And having seen the advert Pace has invited the supporter to be his guest at the club’s next home game and will also give the fan a signed shirt from the players.

Pace said: ‘We are working to identify the fan who made the appeal and as soon as we have their details I would like to invite them to the boardroom before our next home game.
