The Clarets put an end to an eight-match winless run with a 1-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on a wet and windy afternoon at Turf Moor.
After a very even first-half with neither side having any real opportunities, Burnley took the lead just before the break.
Ashley Westwood's cross fell into the path of Jack Cork on the edge of the area, who drilled the ball towards the goal taking a deflection off Tarkowski on the way in past a stranded Maty Ryan.
And despite the visitors' best efforts at clawing one back in the second-half, the Clarets' defence kept Albion at bay and secured their first clean sheet at home since the 4-0 win over AFC Bournemouth in September.
