'Best way to end the year': Cristiano Ronaldo sends message after scoring in Manchester United's victory over Burnley... as he overtakes ex-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Premier League goal total for the Red Devils

It hasn't been the happiest start for Cristiano Ronaldo since he returned to Manchester United in the summer.

The year though has ended on a high for the Portuguese superstar and the Red Devils after taking a 3-1 victory over Burnley on Thursday night.

Ronaldo appeared frustrated in the early stages of the match after missing an early opportunity, but he got his goal after 35 minutes as he tapped home when Scott McTominay's strike was pushed onto the post.

In finding the back of the net, Ronaldo overtook Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for goals scored in the Premier League - with the 36-year-old now on 92 goals in 211 appearances.
