The Clarets’ Academy is to host a prestigious youth tournament featuring top teams from home and abroad.
The two-day ‘Burnley FC International Cup’ will see 10 clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Rangers, Hertha Berlin and Portuguese top-flight side Nacional, compete alongside the Clarets at the Barnfield Training Centre.
The tournament, for Under-10 age-group teams, will be open to supporters, with free entry, and takes place over the weekend 18-19 May.
Tournament organiser Ash Higgins, a lead foundation phase coach in the Clarets’ Academy, said: “It’s the first time we’ve staged an event like this and it’s another big step forward for the Academy at this level.
