It was a shame that none of these players got to celebrate with the Stanley Cup as members of the Buffalo Sabres.
The Buffalo Sabres don't seem to be close to a Stanley Cup any time soon but that hasn't always been the case. In fact there has been a few times in franchise history they have been right there as they reached the Stanley Cup Final twice (1975, 1999) and reached the Conference Finals/NHL Semi-Finals four times (1980, 1998, 2010, 2011).
