Sabres stocked with goaltenders who need more seasoning

It’s tough to forecast goaltending careers. There’s the rare early bloomer like Tom Barrasso, but more often than not it takes time to see if a netminder has the goods to carry an NHL team.

Take Chicago’s Corey Crawford. The Blackhawks drafted him in the second round in 2003, so they obviously thought highly of him. Still, it wasn’t until eight seasons later when he finally became an NHL regular and took over the starting job.

So when the question arises, “Do the Sabres have their goalie of the future in the organization?” the answer is a resounding, “Maybe.
