Sabres send Sheary and Rodrigues to Penguins for Kahun

The Buffalo Sabres have made their second trade of their Deadline Day. Forwards Conor Sheary and Evan Rodrigues have been traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins for young forward Dominik Kahun.

The Czech-born German left winger was an undrafted free agent, signing a two-year entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2018. He appeared in all 82 games with the Blackhawks in that season, and finished 7th among all rookies in the NHL with 13 goals and 37 points.

The 24-year-old was traded to the Penguins in the summer of 2019 along with a 2019 fifth-round pick for defenseman Olli Maatta, and since then has featured in 50 games this season, picking up 10 goals and 17 assists.
