To say the Buffalo Sabres have struggled to make good decisions the last several years in free agency is an understatement. And they made another curious one last week as NHL free agency began.
On a bad defensive team last year, Linus Ullmark posted impressive numbers, with a 9-6 record, 2.63 GAA, and .917 SV%. Those are strong stats on a good team, let alone a team that finished 19 games below 500.
