Sabres fire Americans head coach Chadd Cassidy

Just like the Sabres, Rochester will have a new man behind the bench next season.

The house cleaning continues. The Americans announced today that head coach Chadd Cassidy has been relieved of his duties.

"I'd like to thank Chadd for all of his hard work and contributions during his time with the Amerks," Tim Murray said in a statement on Amerks.com. "With the organization as a whole continuing to move forward into a new chapter, we have decided to make a change at that position and will begin the search for a new Amerks head coach immediately."

Cassidy took over the helm in Rochester in 2013 when Ron Rolston was elevated to the Sabres head coach.
