When the story of this season is written in April, there will be two major storylines. The first will be injuries, the magnitude of which have been too much for this young, top-heavy team to overcome.
But the second storyline, currently in progress, is the Sabres’ inability to win any games that would help them leapfrog teams in the standings.
Buffalo came in to tonight with the chance to move to within four points of the last Atlantic playoff spot facing a not-very-threatening Devils team, and once again came up short, losing tonight 2-1 to remain six points behind the Leafs for that final spot in the Atlantic.
