Recap: Sabres Get a Shootout Victory Over the Senators

Tonight was a back and forth affair between the Buffalo Sabres and Ottawa Senators. An entertaining game between two teams at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.

The Sabres started the scoring late in the first period. Marco Scandella turned and fired a slap shot from the point that got through a screen in front of Craig Anderson. The two clubs played a pretty even period, but the Sabres skated out of the period with a 1-0 lead.

Ottawa took control in the second period. Ryan Dzingel set the tone 36 seconds into the period tying the game at one.
