The Buffalo Sabres put in an absolutely miserable performance for about 57 minutes against a hungry Detroit Red Wings team that is fighting for the playoffs. But then once the Sabres were down 3-0, they kicked into gear and scored two quick, late goals to make it 3-2. First Zemgus Girgensons beat Jimmy Howard out of nowhere to pull one back, and then Sam Reinhart rifled home a one-timer that Howard didn't even bother turning up for.
However, they failed to find the equalizing goal despite a couple of good looks at goal.
