O'REILLY, TEAM CANADA STORM PAST CZECH REPUBLIC IN WORLD CUP OPENER

The Sabres' own Ryan O'Reilly skated 14:28 for Team Canada, including 3:11 on the penalty kill, a spot where he is expected to be relied heavily upon in any tournament game he plays.

Sidney Crosby led the way for the Canadians with a goal and three assists. Canada jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first, scored twice more in the second and added another goal in the third. Brad Marchand (1+2) and John Tavares (0+2) also had multi-point nights.

Canada outshot their opponents 50-27. Carey Price picked up the shutout while Michal Neuvirth was slapped with the loss for the Czech Republic.
