The grades are in from the first week of action, and they didn’t make for good reading. We had a great poll turnout though with over 550 votes, and the three stars of the week were: Evander Kane (4.55), the penalty kill unit (4.18) and Jason Pominville (3.44). The negative grades were plentiful, and there were multiple candidates for the three goats of the week, but the trio that came in lowest were: Kyle Okposo (1.45), Matt Moulson (1.43) and the power play unit (1.42).
The Buffalo Sabres rough start to the season continued on the West Coast road trip with two straight losses before they finally broke the ‘duck’ in the wins column.
