Entering training camp and right up through the beginning of the regular season, the Buffalo Sabres had major questions at goalie. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen entered camp with an injury, and the Sabres were quick to sign free agent Alexandar Georgiev.
Then, right before the season, the Sabres waived Georgiev and claimed Colten Ellis off waivers to be the backup to Alex Lyon. However, as all of these moves were going on it raised the question of why Devon Levi wasn't getting a chance.
He is considered to be the Sabres' goaltender of the future and one of the top prospects at the position around the league.
