The Sabres will have a prospect on Team USA for the World Junior Championship, as defenseman Casey Fitzgerald made the team’s final 23-man roster.
The 19-year-old was selected in the third round of the 2016 draft by Buffalo. Fitzgerald is a sophomore at Boston College, where he’s scored five goals and eight assists in 19 games this season.
The U.S. open the tournament Monday against Latvia at 3:30 p.m. That game can be watched on NHL Network.
