Buffalo Sabres Zemgus Girgensons Suffers Upper-Body Injury

Buffalo Sabres forward Zemgus Girgensons suffered an upper-body injury in Friday night’s game against the Boston Bruins, the team announced Friday evening.

Girgensons left the ice with 9:07 left in the first period of Friday’s game.

He didn’t rejoin the team on the bench for the start of the second period, and was later announced as being out for the rest of the game.

Girgensons suffered the injury while making an open-ice hit. His skate appeared to have hit the ice awkwardly, and it took him a while to get up after falling.
