After three days off, the Buffalo Sabres return to action tonight, hosting the Tampa Bay Lightning at First Niagara Center for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
The Sabres currently sit 13th in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 5-7-0. The Lightning are four points head with a 6-6-2 record — and two games in hand.
Tonight is a great opportunity for the Buffalo Sabres to capture two points and move up in the standings, and there’s no reason why they can’t.
After all, the Sabres are currently on a two-game winning streak. They’re most recently coming off the 2-1 win over the New York Islanders at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, but that was Sunday.
