Game #1 is in the book and the Buffalo Sabres are undefeated after taking down the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1. Here are some thoughts from what I saw on the ice last night.
For starters, Ralph Krueger’s offense looked fantastic. The Sabres were constantly on the attack in Pittsburgh territory and were putting a lot of shots on goal. The aggression that Krueger’s team had on offense kept Pittsburgh out of Buffalo’s territory for the better part of the first 2 periods.
The passing in this game was also fantastic. The Sabres were always looking ahead and completed many difficult passes.
