Finally – Buffalo Sabres forward Jack Eichel showed he’s human! Early in the 2nd period, Eichel made a few mistakes and it looked like he may be dwelling on them. As an 18-year-old, it’s going to happen, Eichel is going to make some mistakes. First, every player does. It means they’re human. Second, take a note from Zemgus Girgensons. I saw him make a couple mistakes and #28 put his head down and come back to make a solid defensive play.
Nevertheless, Eichel made up for it. In the 3rd, he created an offensive chance, got himself in front of the net, and screened Steve Mason on a point shot from Jake McCabe.
