Buffalo Sabres goaltender Robin Lehner and defenseman Mark Pysyk will both join the Rochester Americans for conditioning stints, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.
Lehner has been sidelined since the beginning of the season, on injured reserve since October 10th. His high-ankle sprain had kept him out 38 games.
Lehner then later suffered a setback, which pushed his recovery back further.
He slowly began practicing and joining the team for practices, but having missed so much time, needs some conditioning before he can return to NHL action.
It’s expected that Lehner could start two of three games for the Amerks this weekend, potentially both Friday’s and Sunday’s games in Rochester.
