Buffalo Sabres Ryan O’Reilly Nominated For Masterton

Buffalo Sabres forward Ryan O’Reilly has been nominated for the Bill Masterton Memorial trophy, it was announced Monday.

O’Reilly was selected as the Buffalo Sabres’ nominee by the Buffalo chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association.

That chapter includes The Buffalo News writers Mike Harrington, John Vogl, Bucky Gleason and Amy Moritz, as well as Olean Times Herald reporter Bill Hoppe, several folks from the Associated Press and WNY Hockey Report and WNY Hockey Magazine.

Each team’s city’s chapter nominates one player from that team for the award, which is given to:

“the National Hockey League player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey.
