Just when you thought it was safe to hate on Buffalo Sabres goaltender Robin Lehner, the dude goes and does something he had not done in over five years.
According to the Buffalo Sabres Stats Twitter account (@SabresStats, not affiliated with the team), Lehner’s 1-0 shutout of the Detroit Red Wings was his first 1-0 shutout since February 28, 2012. More importantly, it was a quality showing at a time when the Sabres are beginning to show some signs of life. With two wins in a row under their belts, Lehner and the Sabres are now 3-5-2, only two points removed from 8th place in the Eastern Conference.
