The Buffalo Sabres have some solid defensive prospects, a very young and promising blue line for next season. One of the players that will likely be a big part of that blue line picture will be young defenseman Mark Pysyk.
But Pysyk’s dream of playing in the NHL was almost sidelined in February when, after being sent back to the Rochester Americans he collapsed during a game of pickup basketball. No one knew why. Pysyk has been sidelined since, as the organization wanted to take every precaution before letting the kid return to the ice.
The team should just shut him down for the season, and in fact, had every intention of doing so, according to the Rochester D&C .
