The Buffalo Sabres enjoyed a Friday evening off, and while they were relaxing, the rest of the NHL was doing them a favor – well, if we’re still interested in making the playoffs, that is.
(If you are looking for the tank . . . not so much.)
See, there were a number of games featuring teams who are hoping to claim the second and final wild car spot in the Eastern Conference last night, as the Toronto Maple Leafs, Tampa Bay Lightning, and New York Islanders all took to the ice.
And, as luck would have it, each of those three teams lost, which somewhat improved the Sabres’ odds of squeaking into the playoffs.
