Last evening against the San Jose Sharks, Jack Eichel scored the game winning goal in overtime. With that goal Eichel tied the Buffalo Sabres franchise record also held by Derek Roy and Thomas Vanek. For Eichel this record tying performance is all the more impressive considering he achieved this feat at the age of 22, Roy and Vanek achieved the accomplishment at 27 and 28 respectively.
This record shows just how clutch and important Eichel is for Sabres when it comes to close games. For Eichel to achieve this at the age of 22 shouldn’t be understated.
